| Remembering Barbara Shaw--The 18th victim of Bucks County |

In the days leading up to the dedication for the 9-11 Garden of Reflection, the memorial planners learned of Barbara A. Shaw, the 18th resident of Bucks county who died on September 11, 2001. Memorial planners began work immediately on how Barbara could always be remembered amidst the growing landscape of the garden, and efforts were quickly made to include her with the other 17 victims. We’d also like to share some information about Barbara here, for those who might not have known her.
Born Barbara Alice Rysztogi, she was raised along the Delaware River in the village of Andalusia, located in the Bensalem section of Bucks County. Attending grade school at St. Charles in Bensalem, she went on to St. Hubert’s High school in Philadelphia. After high school, She was among the first students at Bucks County Community College after it opened in 1965. She married at St. Charles and had one daughter, Janine.
Barbara was working for Compaq Computers the morning of September 11, 2001. She died in the North Tower. she was 57-years-old. Her memory is carried on through her daughter Janine and her two grandsons, Ryan and Tyler. Barbara also has a brother, Ron Rysztogi, a long time resident of Bucks county for over 60-years.
