| Service reminds summer has gone |

The rain was a fine mist, like the spray from the two towering fountains, as local religiious leaders offered words of hope as families and visitors gathered for the Garden of Reflection's first 9-11 memorial service since the dedication of the garden last autumn.
The service was, to put it humbly, a moving event, as a young girl born on September 11, 2001 stood in front of the procession that filed its way along the garden's path. The morning was interspersed with interfaith prayers, the ringing of a fire bell, the reading of lost loved ones, and time for silence and reflection. the rain seemed to break each time the bell tolled and a voice rang out over the public address system, giving spectators a sense of peace amidst the quiet landscape that sprawled out from the iron sculpture raised from the wreckage of the World Trade Towers.
All those who had labored to make the day's service a success extend their thanks to everyone who came out in the rain. The weather was a reminder that summer has finally passed, although the garden will remain open throughout the autumn and into winter. As the leaves change, take advantage of the beauty that grows from the garden, spending an afternoon with family and friends. for those wishing to help with preparing the garden for winter, come back soon as details will be posted.
